Instant Pot Recipes – How to Make Rice in a Pressure Cooker

I used to have a crock pot, a rice cooker, and a steamer.  Now I just have an instant pot pressure cooker.  It slow cooks, steams, and pressure cooks.  Best of all, it makes the most amazing rice in about 15 minutes!  It’s so easy, all you do is pour the rice and water in, put the lid on, plug it in and press a button to start it.  It’s that easy!

1 tsp coconut oil

1/4 tsp. salt

    Hi,

Have your tried making rice using the Instant Pot’s rice cooker function, instead of the pressure cooker function? Does it come out better using pressure or is it just for time saving?

Would you mind making spanish rice on the Instant Pot and posting your results? Something like:

I’ve been using (“Forbidden”) black rice on a tiny (1.5 Cup uncooked) panasonic SR-3NA cooker.. I also have a Hawkins HA15L (1.5L) pressure cooker, but both are way too small to make something like the above recipe!

I’m hoping to get either a bigger rice cooker (Aroma 10 cup uncooked) or trade everything in, for the all-in-one Instant Pot. Actually, I’m rooting for the Instant Pot because I’d also be able to recycle a small (1.5Qt) Proctor slow cooker and a 1L Progurt yogurt maker and have lots of cabinet space cleared!
