Top 5 Things to do with Princesses at Disneyland

Our family has gone to Disneyland many many times since we’ve had our children.  We love the happy feeling there and think it’s the perfect family vacation and we go there often.  In the last 18 months we have gone 4 times!  We just got back from going at Halloween time and had lots of fun.  It was hard to leave!

I get asked all the time by my friends, “Tell me what can my girls do with the Princesses at Disneyland?”  Here’s my favorites:

1. Visit the Princess Fantasy Faire (free)

There are 3 princesses at the Princess Fantasy Faire.  You get what you get.  There is no schedule posted.  We’ve been happy every time we’ve gone to this.  The princesses will talk to your little girl for a few minutes, sign her autograph book, take a picture, and give her a hug.  I think it’s worth the 30+ minute wait time.  The last time we went to Disneyland, we got Belle, Ariel (in her dress, not her fins), and Tiana.  Also to the side (in a separate line) was princess Merida from the movie Brave.  There is also a dance the princesses do also called “Princess Fantasy Faire” but it is closed until 2013.  It is very well done and worth it to attend.

2. Ariel’s Grotto (cost $40 for adults, $34 for children)

We have done character dining a couple times.  It’s pricey, but I think it’s worth it.  The food at Ariel’s Grotto is incredible and they cater to people with food allergies (which is important to us).  This is a 4 course meal in a lovely atmosphere.  You will meet all of the main Disney Princesses including Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, and Snow White.  They will come to your table and talk to you for as long as you want them to stay.  I think it’s worth the price and an experience you will never forget.  It’s also nice if you want to skip the 30+ minute line for the princesses mentioned above.  Here’s a video quick tour of the meal with the princesses.

3. Visit Rapunzel’s House
While the line to visit with the real Rapunzel is always ridiculously long, I think it’s worth it to see her and her house once.  Rapunzel is consistently little girl’s favorite princess.  If you ask the attendant at her house before you get in line what time Flynn Ryder will appear, you can try to plan it to get in line at the right time to see them both.  I found Rapunzel’s house to be quite stunning and I loved seeing her hair and talking with her.
#4 Visit Pixie Hollow (with Tinkerbell)
If your little girl really likes Tinkerbell, then by all means take her to Pixie Hollow.  It’s really fun to look around there as it’s a bigger location than where the other princesses are.  You will see Tinkerbell and then 2 of her friends.  We saw SIlvermist and one other I can’t remember.  You can expect to wait at least 40 minutes for this attraction.  Like I said, if your little girl is really into Tinkerbell, by all means go.  If not, maybe skip it.
5. Go on the “princess rides”
The rides aren’t as interactive as the attractions I mentioned above, but they are still really fun.  There is a Snow White ride (it’s ok), you can tour Sleeping Beauty’s Castle (it’s ok), you can visit the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and get your hair done like a real princess (pricey $80+), but my favorite princess ride is the new Ariel ride called, “Ariel’s Undersea Adventure”.

  2. Hi! I’m Amara Chacon. I have 4 children so far, Oldest is a boy at 15, Middle a girl at 11, another girl at 6, and the youngest a boy at 5. We go to Disneyland, and Disneyworld a lot! We Only went to Disneyworld once for Christmas 2013, and Disneyland about 4 times already! We plan to go to Disneyworld at the end of February. Anyways My youngest daughter loves to see the princesses every time we go! We have been on the Ariel ride twice, but we never went to Ariel’s Grotto before. We wish we could have attended the restaurant, but we didn’t last time we went. My youngest daughter also went to style boutique, to get her hair done in a princess bun and mini tiara! It was a bit pricey, but it was worth it! I am sorry this is way to long just had a lot to tell.
