How to Bathe a Newborn

Items used in video

Fold Up Baby Bathtub that fits in the kitchen sink… Works great so you don’t have to bend over the tub in your bathroom.  I have been known to cram this into the dishwasher even!  I have had my dark blue sink bathtub for 12 years and I love it.  You can also put it in the bathtub if that’s what you choose.
Cradle Cap Sponge for washing body and hair. Or if you would rather use a washcloth, we like these organic cotton ones.  I stick it in the dishwasher to clean it.
Fragrance Free Baby Wash so the baby doesn’t get rashes from fragrances.
Cetaphil Lotion to help with dryness.
A friend made us the hooded towel, but if we were going to buy one, we would get this one.
I love these bath water scoops for directing the water away from their eyes. It’s a very controlled way to pour because it has a spout. He can use it as a bath toy later as well.  I stick it in the dishwasher to clean it.
If you have a little boy, you may find the peepee teepee very useful so you don’t get “squirted” when giving him a bath.

Hopefully this helps you learn how to bathe a newborn.  If you have any questions, please post a comment and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

    Hello,

I have watched your video on how to bathe a newborn and I have some concerns that i would like to share with you if you do not mind, I am taking a course on child care in high school and some of the things you were displaying in the video made me question everything , I would like to inform you of the things that you have done wrong in the video.
#1.you let your baby freeze when you when go set up the tub in the sink let alone you left the baby on the counter and the baby could have fallen.
#2. warming up the back of the baby tub sponge does not help because the baby was freezing on the counter
#3.If your baby boy has been circumcised then you are not supposed to get soap near the wound
#4. The sponge looks okay but you were scrubbing to hard to get the cradle cap off of him
#5. You washed your babies bottom with the sponge and then proceeded to rinse off the baby only to notice that you did not clean the babies face so you took the sponge( that you cleaned the babies bottom with) on his face

but all together you did somethings well which were:
#1 the drying of the baby
#2 the putting the lotion ( good job! warming up the lotion )

but your video was very informative so thank you for making the video!

    Sincerely,
    Tabitha Guidry
    A high school student
